The Role
We're seeking talented WordPress Developers at Junior, Medior, and Senior levels to join our network of developers working on diverse WordPress projects for our European clients. You'll work remotely from home in the Philippines with the flexibility to visit our Davao office when needed for collaboration or team events.
You'll be working with WordPress to build custom themes, plugins, and complex web solutions across various industries. Whether you're augmenting a client's existing team or working on dedicated project delivery, this role offers the opportunity to expand your skills while working with international teams.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining WordPress websites, themes, and plugins. Your work will involve collaborating closely with product teams and designers to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions, writing clean and maintainable code that follows WordPress best practices, and participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables. You'll customize and extend WordPress functionality through custom plugins and theme development, optimize website performance and security, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and contribute to technical discussions to help shape architectural decisions for the projects you work on.
What We're Looking For
We're hiring at multiple experience levels. Here's what we're looking for at each:
Junior WordPress Developer (0-2 years experience)
Basic proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Understanding of WordPress core concepts, themes, and plugins
Familiarity with WordPress template hierarchy and the Loop
Experience with popular page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, etc.)
Basic understanding of MySQL and database concepts
Willingness to learn and grow with mentorship
Basic knowledge of Git version control
Strong problem-solving attitude and eagerness to tackle challenges
Medior WordPress Developer (2-5 years experience)
Strong proficiency in PHP and proven experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins
Solid understanding of WordPress core, hooks, filters, and action system
Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and custom post types
Knowledge of WooCommerce development and customization
Experience working with WordPress REST API and headless WordPress setups
Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and familiarity with React or Vue.js
Understanding of website performance optimization and caching strategies
Experience with WordPress security best practices
Comfortable with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision
Experience working in an agile environment
Senior WordPress Developer (5+ years experience)
Expert-level proficiency in PHP and extensive WordPress development experience
Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, multisite, and enterprise-level solutions
Proven track record of building complex custom plugins and theme frameworks
Experience with WordPress VIP standards and best practices
Strong knowledge of headless WordPress and modern JAMstack architectures
Experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews
Expertise in performance optimization, security hardening, and scalability
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for WordPress
Ability to lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
Experience with WordPress plugin/theme development for public distribution
All Levels: Strong English communication skills are required as you'll be working with international teams. We value developers who are self-motivated, take ownership of their work, and are passionate about staying current with WordPress development trends and technologies.
Nice to Have
Experience with popular WordPress frameworks (Genesis, Sage, Bedrock), knowledge of SEO best practices and implementation, familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), experience with WordPress multisite networks, knowledge of cloud hosting platforms (WP Engine, Kinsta, AWS), experience with payment gateway integrations and WooCommerce subscriptions, contributions to WordPress core or plugin/theme repositories, experience with website migrations and optimization, and experience working with distributed teams across different time zones would all be valuable additions to your profile.
